Holiday activities you can do at home

Here at Deadly Kindy we know just how hard it is keeping your little ones happy and busy these school holidays.

That’s why we have put together five easy and simple, fun activities for you to do at home these school holidays that are not only easy to set up but will also keep your child’s mind busy.

1. PLAYDOUGH CREATIONS

All you need is some playdough and few kitchen tools (cookie cutters or rolling pin) and Gundoos imagination. Don’t have any playdough here a fun and easy recipe to make.

1 cup of plain flour

2 tsp of cream of table

½ cup of salt

1tbsp of cooking oil

1 cup of water

Food colouring

Mix all the ingredients together and knead together.

2. STORY TIME ADVENTURES

Grab some pillows and blanket and snuggle up with your Gundoo with their favourite book. Talk about what you can see, what might happen on the next page or even ask your Gundoo to act out their favourite page of the book.

3. OBSTACLE COURSE FUN

Using chairs and pillows along with anything else you can find create a fun obstacle course for your Gundoo’s to complete. Jump over pillows, crawl under chairs, hop around the mat like a kangaroo. Balance along a line of tape on the floor. This fun will keep your Gundoo busy for hours and is also a great way for burning energy off and can even be done on a rainy day inside.

4. MINI CHEF MOMENTS

Invite your child to help you in the kitchen by baking up a storm with your Gundoo. Your Gundoo will love being able to mix and pour all the ingredients together along with trying their delicious, yummy creation after.

5. SENSORY TRAYS

Fill a shallow tub with rice, sand or water. Add spoons, cups and little toys that can be used for scooping, pouring and pretend play. This fun and easy activity also helps keep your Gundoo’s engaged while also exploring different textures.
