Kelvene – Jajumbora Senior Educator
My name is Kelvene and I am a proud Butchulla and Byelle woman. I love being a part of the Deadly Kindy Jajumbora early childhood team as senior educator.
I’ve worked in the Early Childhood Sector for over 13 years I have completed a Diploma in Children Services. I am also currently learning as much as I can in Play Therapy.
My experience is with all age groups in early childhood from nursery to kindergarten, and I have loved every minute of it. I have a real passion for this industry and I cannot think of any job I would rather have.
As an educator I believe it’s important that we teach children to be themselves. They should be comfortable and confident in their own individualities.
I also believe it’s important that we teach them about their culture and build positive self-identities so they can grow up to be anyone and anything they want to be. I want all jarjums to feel safe, supported and connected to culture while they’re at Deadly Kindy.
They should feel proud to be who they are, whatever that may be.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and travelling.
I’m so excited to be a part of the kindy learning journey and getting to know all our jarjums and families.
