Tenneile – Senior Early Childhood Educator

Hi my name is Tenneile and I am from the Budjari mob near the Paroo river, close to the southern border of Queensland.

My mob’s totem is a grey kangaroo. I have a four year old son and two young teen step daughters and I’m the senior early childhood educator at Deadly Kindy Burragah. I’ve been working for ATSICHS since August 2023.

I have always wanted to be able to give back to my fellow Indigenous community and when I got the opportunity to work at Burragah I was so grateful to be a part of the team. In my role of senior educator here at Burragah I support our early childhood teacher and centre manager with the day to day routine, I make sure that they jarjums are comforted and supported and cared for. I worked in long day care for 13 years before starting at Burragah and when I got the opportunity to work with our next generation I couldn’t say no.

The most rewarding part of my role is seeing the smiles on the jarjums faces and the connections we build.
