What to Expect When You Enrol in Deadly Kindy

Enrolling in kindy can be a big step, not only for little ones but parents too. It’s an exciting time, but it can also be a little daunting.

But there’s no need to worry, at Deadly Kindy we’re here to help!

A Deadly Kindy Day

Knowing the routine and what to expect ahead of time can be helpful for settling those nerves in the lead up to the big day.

It’s important to bring a lunchbox filled with morning tea and lunch – preferably in a hard plastic lunchbox so that it can be stacked easily in the fridge. You should also pack a hat, water bottle, single fitted sheet for rest time and a change of clothes. Some parents find it helpful to have all of this packed and ready to go the night before. Including your jarjum in the packing can help ease some of their nerves as well.

Deadly Kindy starts at 9am and we ask that you collect your little one by 3.08pm in the afternoon. We offer a transport service to assist those families who need help getting their jarjum to kindy. If you think you may need transport assistance we encourage you to reach out to your kindy staff to arrange this.

On the first day the kindy staff will help you to set up your iCheck-in app code to sign your jarjum in and out.

Once you arrive, you can sign your jarjum in using the app. They will also need to place their lunch boxes and water bottles on the trolleys. Ensure that your jarjum has applied sunscreen for the morning. Deadly Kindy staff will make sure that your jarjum reapplies sunscreen every 2 hours if outdoors.

We keep you posted on all the great work, learning and fun that your jarjum gets up to everyday onto the StoryPark platform. Each child has their own individual portfolio and it’s a great way to keep up to date with everything your little one does at kindy. It also helps you understand all the ways in which they’re learning and growing.

Starting kindy can be tough, but we are committed to making the process as smooth, and as fun as possible. If you have any hesitations or any questions about Deadly Kindy, just give us a call on 3239 5381.
